Enviromena buys 27.5MWp Essex solar project from Innova Renewables

The Parkgate Farm deal is the first step in a wider arrangement under which Enviromena expects to acquire 233MW of solar and 75MW of co-located battery storage from Innova before the end of 2026.

Enviromena has acquired the 27.5MWp Parkgate Farm solar project near Braintree, Essex, from developer Innova Renewables.

The transaction is the first under a broader arrangement between the two companies. Enviromena said it expects to acquire 233MW of solar and 75MW of co-located battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from Innova before the end of 2026.

The company added that further acquisitions are expected to complete in the coming weeks, growing its portfolio of UK solar projects backed by Contracts for Difference (CfD).

Project details

Parkgate is fully consented and secured a CfD in Allocation Round 6 (AR6). Energisation is expected in summer 2028.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate more than 28,000MWh of renewable electricity a year, equivalent to the consumption of more than 10,000 homes.

It will be Enviromena's second large-scale solar farm in Essex, following the 71MWp Medebridge Solar Farm near South Ockendon, which has been operational since September 2025.

The companies

Enviromena currently has nearly 400MW under operations, maintenance and asset management, alongside a UK development pipeline of more than 3GW.

Innova has more than 30 distribution and transmission-connected sites in development or operation across England and Wales, with combined solar and storage capacity above 6GW.

Enviromena chief executive Chris Marsh said the company was "delighted to be working with Innova", describing Parkgate as the first milestone in a portfolio the two plan to deliver together. He called the arrangement a significant opportunity for both businesses and said Enviromena looked forward to taking the wider portfolio through construction and into operation.

Innova CFIO Daniel Mushin said the sale was the first project in a broader relationship between the organisations, and that it continued Innova's progress on its renewable energy pipeline and its collaborative approach to project development.
