RES has signed an asset management contract with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for the 392MW Pestera II wind farm in south-east Romania.

The project, located near Constanta, is under construction and is due to reach full operations in 2028.

RES said it will support CIP through the build-out phase and into operation, with the aim of ensuring the wind farm is "set up for strong long-term performance".

## Services and local team

Juan Gutierrez, CEO of Services at RES, said the partnership with CIP is focused on maximising returns from high-quality assets across their full lifetime. He pointed to the scale of RES's global services business, including round-the-clock monitoring from its control centres.

Gutierrez added that RES's team in Romania can provide commercial and technical support to keep availability high and costs under control from the day the wind farm starts generating.

## CIP's view

Niels Holst, a partner at CIP, said Romania has an important role to play in Europe's energy transition and that Pestera II will make a significant contribution to the country's clean energy supply.

Holst said RES brings deep asset management experience and a proven approach to preparing new wind farms for operation. He said this will be valuable as CIP takes the project from construction through to generation.

Neither company disclosed the value or length of the contract.
